POOLING OF RESOURCES to transform African livestock production systems

Multi-country genetic and integrated multinational efforts can help streamline resources, reduce costs, and prevent duplication.

AABNet establishes a unified African genetic evaluation centre to leverage joint expertise from stakeholders, including the International Committee for Animal Recording (ICAR) and Interbull.

The platform compensates for weak national institutions in Africa and refocus governments’ and investors’ attention on long-term resourcing and commitments, allowing African countries to reap the benefits.
